Fouuunt can keep downloads on a shared project locked until the invoice is paid. Set the project's downloads to "Open after payment" — your client can still view everything, and downloads open automatically once they pay.

1. Connect your Stripe account. Payments run through Stripe, so this comes first. It's a one-time setup — see How invoice payments work for the walkthrough.
2. Turn on "Accept payments" on the project's invoice. Every invoice linked to the project needs to accept online payments. If one doesn't, Fouuunt offers to turn it on for you.
3. Set downloads to "Open after payment". Open the project, click the settings icon in the top bar, and under "Downloads" pick "Open after payment". Only workspace owners can change this.
4. Make sure your client can open the invoice. Turn on "Show invoices" in the client's settings so the invoice appears on their share link (it's off by default), or send them the invoice link directly.
Download buttons stay visible on the share link — your client can browse and view everything. Clicking a download shows a "Pending Invoice" notice with a button to open the invoice. They pay by card, or by US bank transfer (ACH) on USD invoices. Checkout happens on Stripe, and they don't need a Fouuunt account.
Only downloads. Your client can still view files, play videos, comment, and approve. The lock covers the whole project, folders included — it can't be set per file. Your own downloads from the dashboard always work.
Card payments unlock downloads instantly. ACH transfers take about 4–5 business days — the share link shows "Payment processing" until the funds clear.
Once paid, the project shows a Paid badge and downloads open for everyone with the link. The Downloads setting can't be changed after that.
Why can't my client see the invoice?
"Show invoices" is off for that client — it's off by default. Turn it on in the client settings, or send the invoice link directly.
What if the project has no invoice?
Downloads stay locked. Link an invoice that accepts payments, or switch downloads back to "Open".
When do downloads open if there's more than one invoice?
When every invoice linked to the project is paid. One unpaid invoice keeps downloads locked.
Can I unlock downloads without a payment?
Yes. Switch downloads back to "Open" any time before the invoice is paid.
What happens if I refund a payment?
A full refund returns the invoice to Unpaid and downloads lock again. A partial refund doesn't.
